Kestrel Gite

This holiday cottage is newly finished for the 2008 season & is adjacent to the end of the main house with a huge, 120 square metres of light & bright space. Open plan downstairs with three sets of french doors, both front & back opening out onto our lovely gardens. Living / dining room with a fully equipped, light oak fitted kitchen.  Fully tiled floor with rugs. Two good sized double bedrooms & two bathrooms (one en-suite) upstairs. We have optional stair gates available to make it safer for toddlers & we also supply a highchair.
 

 

Downstairs, in addition to the corner sofa we have supplied a comfortable double sofa bed to sleep 2 people. There is also a futon chair which converts to an additional single bed.

                          

Two carpeted double bedrooms upstairs overlook the back gardens. The first has an en-suite bathroom & is large enough to sleep 3 people (there is a single futon bed in addition to the king sized double bed; great for young children who need to share with parents). The second twin room has zip-link beds which can either be separate, or joined together into a 6' king-sized bed as required. This room has an adjacent 'family' bath room with a power shower. All beds are supplied with high quality feather duvets, feather & synthetic pillows & blankets. Please let us know when you book, what configuration of beds you require (doubles / twins / travel cots needed etc).

Comfortably sleeps 6 with a supplement for any additionals. Linen (sheets & pillowcases) & house towels can be supplied (see tariff) or you are welcome to bring your own. Please bring your own beach towels.

Barn Owl Gite

This is our three bedroomed holiday cottage, situated to the left of Kestrel. Exposed stone walls, oak beams & loads of character and plenty of space.

                       

Also newly completed for 2008, this is an 'upsidedown' house with the double aspect open plan living/dining room & kitchen upstairs. Oak parquet flooring upstairs, Unspoilt views across our beautiful gardens & open countryside. There are two comfortable single chair beds which can be made up if required. Stairgates can be fitted if needed.

Our ground floor bedrooms both have French doors opening out onto the terrace & back gardens.

Bedroom 1 has a 5 foot double bed & a large pine wardrobe & ensuite shower room.

Bedroom 2 has zip-link twin beds (they join together to create a 6 foot king-size bed) plus there's an additional chair bed (we can make up if required), a whole wall of built in wardrobes, & an ensuite shower room. Bedroom 2's bathroom is also the 'Family' bathroom with a separate door opening onto the entrance hall.

Bedroom 3 (upstairs) is entered from the sitting room. It has twin beds & overlooks the back garden.

Both of our gites & our B & B suite share ample parking, use of the gardens, an in-ground trampoline, swings & plenty of safe play for young chldren.

B & B suite

Our double aspect chambre d'hote room (French for Bed & Breakfast) is also enormous with it's own stairs, a fantastic, super comfy 6 foot king sized bed, beautiful antique furnishings, a sitting room area, TV, ensuite bathroom with bath (shower over) & fluffy towels. An additional 2 single beds can be made up if required (supplements apply; see Tariffs). Travel cot / highchair available if needed.    

We also let the other rooms in the gites as B & B rooms if they are not otherwise booked so if you are a party of more than 2 or 3 & you would like more rooms, we can often still accomodate you. Please just ask!

                    

TV, Radio, Hairdryer, Travel cot & complementary tea & coffee making facilities.

Breakfast is served downstairs in the farmhouse kitchen or on our terrace in warm weather & we offer freshly baked croissants & breads from the local bakery, coffee or tea, a selection of jams & marmalades, fresh fruit juices, fruit, cereals & yogurts.

Three course dinners (30 euros, per head), including aperitifs & wine. Please let us know & if you'd like dinner & make an advance booking. Typically we serve a starter, main course & either cheese or a pudding course. All the food is freshly prepared & homemade, using local or home grown ingredients where possible. Vegetarian options on request. Please let us know if you have any allergies.

Menu example;

Salade Normande, with bacon lardons, apple & camembert in a delicious French dressing.

Pork filet mignon, roasted & served with a creamy cider or white wine gravy. Roast potatoes or minted, steamed new potaotes (in season). Steamed beans & broccoli.

Homemade individual apple crumble & ice cream OR a selection of French cheeses (Trappe de Bricquebec, Merzer. St. Agur).

Coffee or Tea.
